Welcome to Sunflower Montessori School in beautiful Missoula Montana!  We are a small community oriented school, committed to offering children the highest quality care and education.  At Sunflower, we have a clean, peaceful, low student to teacher ratio, and pleasant home-like environment.  The culture and climate has been thoughtfully prepared to honor children’s’ natural abilities to absorb knowledge and develop self-discipline.  Our specialty is nurturing children’s natural desire to learn – Sunflower Montessori is truly “a place to grow”!

At our Sunflower classrooms, we follow a structured Montessori curriculum in the morning that encompasses mathematics, language, science, geography and practical life.  In addition, we offer a fine arts emphasis in the afternoon, with hands-on art instruction in a variety of media, musical discovery, creative movement, dramatic play and theater.  We offer a selection of real-life activities to encourage individuality and free choice for each child.  To better facilitate our children’s development, we offer whole and organic breakfasts, snacks, and hot lunches. 

Sunflower Montessori offers true continuity of care with classrooms for infants through the 3rd grade.  Sunflower Seeds is our program for children under the age of two.  Children graduate to Sunflower Sprouts at the age of two and continue on to Sunflower Montessori at three years of age.  After their preschool experience, children have the option to conitunue with a indivudualized elementary education.  

 All of our teachers are Montessori certified and our elementary teachers are Montessori certified, as well as have degrees in childhood and elementary education.
