MEET THE TEACHERS
Katie Watterson grew up in Sun River, Montana. Katie attended the University of Montana and graduated with high honors with a degree in Sociology. She is the administrative director at Sunflower Montessori School. Katie is the mother of four children.
Correy Harrison grew up in Connecticut. She has a degree in fine arts from the University of Montana and is a certified Montessori instructor. Correy Harrison is the educational director of Sunflower Montessori, and the primary Science, Geography and cultural teacher.
Cheryl Mateer is a certified Montessori teacher, who has over 20 years of experience as a parateacher, and a Montessorian. Cheryl leads the 3 to 6 year old children in sensorial and practical life.
Allison Tierney is the language teacher for the 3 to 6 year old program. Allsion is a certified Montessori teacher, and has owned and operated her own school, as well as taught at several prestigous schools as a lead teacher.
Caitlin Yarchever was born and raised in Southern California. She moved to Missoula to attend the University of Montana and graduated with a degree in Humanities. She is fluent in Italian and is the proud big sister to three younger sisters. She is currently pursuing a degree in secondary education.
Manda Davis has a masters degree in education from the University of Montana and is a doctoral candidate at Columbia University in New York. She did her undergraduate work at Willamette University and is an AMS certified Montessori teacher. Manda is currently the math teacher, and is the future lead teacher of Sunflower Elementary School.
SPROUTS TEACHERS
Heather Garland, an experienced Montessori teacher of 23 years, is the director of the Sunflower Sprouts program located at 1718 S 5th W. Heather has a masters degree from the Universoity of KY in arts and theater. She is a certified Montessori instructor and, over the last several years, has specialized in the developmental and emotional needs of two year old children.
Samantha Pollington grew up in Eastern Montana and has had extensive childcare experience, and is in the final stages of a degree in early childhood education. She is continuing her education in Montessori this summer in Kalispel this summer
Leydon Thornton studied environmental science at Colorado Mountain college in Steamboat, CO. She grew up teaching Spanish to elementary children in Texas, and has spent extensive time in Costa Rica teaching English. Leydon has been a private nanny, and a teacher at Sunflower Seeds
SEEDS TEACHERS
Kamille Phillips grew up in Kalispell, Montana and attended the University of Montana. She will be grduating this summer with a degree in theatre and minor in psychology. Kamille has had extensive experience in child care and specicfically with speical needs children. Kamille was the program director of a childcare facility for over a year in Missoula.
Rachel Beatty has a Masters degree from the University of Washington in clinical psychology.
