SUNFLOWER Sprouts 2-3 YEAR OLD PROGRAM
Welcome to our "Sunflower Sprouts 2-3 year old program"!
The Sunflower Sprouts program is located at 1718 S 5th w. The program is designed specifically for the needs of two to three year olds. As Maria Montessori stated, the needs of two year olds are unique, and they must be allowed an environment that they feel safe and in control of.
In this special time of a child's development, the highly qualified staff are trained to identify and promote "sensitive periods" of development. At the Sunflower Sprouts program children enjoy a prepared environmennt with developmentally appropraite materials and "real life" activities.
Areas of Environment:

Practical Living - real life water activities like dishwashing, small muscle manipulative exercises, art, and individual breakfasts, snacks and lunch.

Sensorial - The sensorial room includes didactic sensorial materials specifically developed by Maria Montessori for two year olds. These materials are the foundation of the development of sensory and motor skills of this age group.
- Academics - the following are academic areas focused on at Sunflower Sprouts Montessori:
- Language - reading and writing
- Math - concrete and conceptual
- Science & Geography - study of the world of plants, and animals, space, time, and cultures
